Chanda Marlowe

Chanda Marlowe focuses her practice on privacy and data security law, particularly issues of data collection in online and mobile platforms, adtech, and the Internet of Things. She has extensive experience researching and publishing works on a wide range of consumer privacy topics, including algorithmic decision-making and digital advertising in education.

Prior to joining Loeb & Loeb LLP, Chanda was the inaugural Christopher Wolf Fellow at the Future of Privacy Forum where she led a working group focused on location and advertising technologies. During law school, Chanda served as a legal intern for the Honorable Judge Wanda Bryant at the North Carolina Court of Appeals, and was named a Roy H. Park Fellow by the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Center for Media Law and Policy.

Alexa Mooney

Policy Counsel, Youth & Education Privacy , FPF

Alexa Mooney is a Policy Counsel with the Youth & Education Privacy team. Alexa focuses on supporting both technological improvements to education and the protection of student privacy. Prior to working at FPF, Alexa worked as a data privacy and cybersecurity attorney at Honigman LLP, where she advised clients including educational institutions and children’s groups on issues in data privacy law.  She also held a position as a legal intern at Cummins Diesel Engines, where she researched issues at the intersection of advancing technology and the law. She has been involved in the education community through volunteering, coaching, and teaching through a pro-bono organization called Outreach for Legal Literacy.

Alexa is a proud graduate of Indiana University’s Maurer School of law, where she earned her J.D. and a certificate in education law, and Ohio State University, where she studied history and political science.

David Sallay

Director, Youth & Education Privacy, FPF

David Sallay is the Director of Youth & Education Privacy at the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF). David previously served as the Chief Privacy Officer and the Student Privacy Auditor at the Utah State Board of Education, where he worked with schools and districts on implementing Utah’s state student privacy law. Before focusing on privacy, he worked in education as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language at Qatar University and at high schools in Hungary. He holds a Masters in Public Policy from the University of Utah and a Masters in Education from the University of Pittsburgh.

Jim Siegl

Senior Technologist, Youth & Education Privacy, Future of Privacy Forum

Jim Siegl, CIPT, is a Senior Technologist with the Youth & Education Privacy team. For nearly two decades prior to joining FPF, Jim was a Technology Architect for the Fairfax County Public School District with a focus on privacy, security, identity management, interoperability, and learning management systems. He was a co-author of the CoSN Privacy Toolkit and the Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) seal program and holds a Master of Science in the Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia.
