Carolina Alonso is a Junior Fellow at the Future of Privacy Forum. Her projects include the Student Privacy Pledge, Advertising Technology, and Kids and the Connected Home. Before joining FPF, Carolina worked in law and policy at a number of technology-centric organizations including Public Knowledge, Yahoo, and Facebook. Carolina is a graduate of UC Davis and Georgetown University Law Center.
At Georgetown, Carolina was a member of the Communications and Technology Law Division of the Institute of Public Representation, where she worked with issues impacting the deaf and hard of hearing community. She also served as a Research Assistant, primarily working on legal issues in the video game industry. She continues to contribute to the Georgetown community through the Georgetown Gilbert & Sullivan Society and Pro Bono events. Carolina is interested in the everyday use and impact of technology and privacy, particularly when it comes to advertising, social networks, children, and gaming.
