Dr. Desara Dushi is an EU Policy Counsel at the Future of Privacy Forum, where she brings extensive expertise to the intersection of law and technology.

Desara holds a double PhD in Law, Science, and Technology from the University of Bologna and the University of Luxembourg. Prior to joining FPF, she worked as a senior postdoctoral researcher at the Law, Science, Technology & Society Research Group (LSTS) of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where she continues to contribute as an affiliated researcher.

Her career has spanned diverse roles, including serving as an assistant professor at Epoka University, where she taught Criminology, Human Rights, Legal Ethics, and Business Law, and as an advisor to the Minister of Justice of Albania, demonstrating her ability to shape public policy and governance.

Desara’s research and professional focus center on critical issues such as human rights in the digital age, privacy and data protection, cybercrime, online child safety, artificial intelligence, the implications of legal technologies for the rule of law and fundamental rights, as well as broader topics related to Internet governance
