Marcus Dessalgne was the Elise Berkower Memorial Fellow with FPF after having interned with FPF while in law school, where he assisted various working groups, including the Smart Cities and Legislative teams. Marcus came to this position as a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he served as both a Brief Writer on the Moot Court Board and a Senior Editor on the Journal of International & Comparative Law.
Marcus brought government, law firm, and in-house experience to this fellowship, having previously worked with the Cyber Unit at the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission; the Technologies Group at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP; and with Senior Counsel at Gallup, Inc. advising them on privacy and data protection matters. Prior to attending law school, and after having received his B.A. from Georgetown University, Marcus worked for several years in risk management for a large, international firm.
