Yas Sharifi served as a Policy Fellow with the Youth and Education Privacy Team at FPF. At FPF, she advanced research, analysis, and thought leadership on issues at the cross-section of mental health, school safety, and student privacy in K-12 schools. Yas previously worked in educational and civil rights advocacy representing marginalized children in the Deep South. Prior to that, she developed and directed youth programming for refugee teens while earning her degree at Yale University. Yas is a proud immigrant and incorporated intersectional perspectives from her lived experiences into her work.
