EU AI ACT
MAY 29, 2025 @ 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST/4:00 – 6:00 PM CET
FPF is pleased to offer our important and popular topic this spring, EU AI ACT
In 2024, the European Union succeeded in adopting the first comprehensive legislation on artificial intelligence on a global scale, also known as Artificial Intelligence Act (or AI Act). The quick expansion of artificial intelligence technologies across society has been one of the primary reasons for moving AI policy from a system based on ethics and standard to a legal framework. The impact of the AI Act is broad, not only because the EU AI Act is the first legally binding act worldwide but also because of its approach based on risk-assessment and enforcement structure. In the Future of Privacy Forum’s training on the EU AI Act, participants will become familiar with the obligations and structure coming from the AI Act and understand its position and role into the broader picture of European digital policy.
What you will learn:
- A breakdown of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act and its legislative scope.
- Conformity Assessment and Fundamental Rights Impact Assessment.
- A clear understanding of the enforcement and structure of the EU AI Act.
- Insight into risk-based classification, enforcement mechanisms, and compliance obligations.
- Practical knowledge of how the Act interacts with EU data protection laws.
- What this means for organizations operating across the EU or processing EU data.
- A global outlook on how this Act may influence other international AI policies and legal standards.
