Alan Simpson has extensive experience helping companies, policymakers, educators, families, and others evaluate policy issues and build solutions – including addressing concerns about student privacy, and encouraging adoption and smart use of technology.
Simpson has worked with leaders in the White House, Congress, the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, and multiple state legislatures and attorneys general. As a consultant, he has developed and directed several initiatives to help students learn and thrive with digital media and technology.
Previously, he served as vice president for policy with Common Sense Media, and as senior director for marketing and communications at the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Simpson also worked at Voices for Illinois Children, National Public Radio (NPR) and the Cable Satellite Public Affairs Network (C-SPAN).
