Joana is the Global Communications Manager at the Future of Privacy Forum, where she manages communications projects and strategies across its global portfolio. She is passionate about using communication to shape public discourse on policy, technology, and innovation.
With experience across three continents, Joana has managed external relations—including communications, public affairs, and business development—for the largest Italian-American organization in the U.S. She also coordinated communication projects for a prominent intergovernmental body representing 17 countries, focusing on European integration. Her work in international development across Northeast and Southeast Asia strengthened her ability to navigate diverse sociopolitical contexts and build global partnerships.
Joana holds a BA in Asian Studies from Sapienza University of Rome and an LLM in Diplomacy from Shanghai International Studies University. A trained sinologist, she also completed a one-year advanced Chinese program as a postgraduate scholar at Xiamen University. She is fluent in English, Italian, Albanian, Mandarin, and Spanish.
