Ann Waldo has more than 25 years of experience as a privacy attorney, consultant, and public policy advocate. She now advises clients through Waldo Law Offices and her consulting firm, where she focuses on health and consumer data. She is particularly interested in de-identification, data strategy, and the rapidly evolving new field of AgeTech privacy and ethics.

She served as the Chief Privacy Officer of Lenovo and of Hoffmann-LaRoche, and she did consumer protection legal work at IBM and public policy at GlaxoSmithKline. She’s served on advisory boards related to health data, privacy law reform, and medical research. A former legislative staffer, she has always had a keen interest in improving laws, not just complying with them. To that end, she’s led state and federal advocacy efforts involving de-identification, medical research, and improving patients’ access to their medical records.

Ann has a law degree with high honors from the North Carolina School of Law.
